Lake Maumelle
(updated 6-25-2026) WestRock Landing in Roland (501-658-5598) said all the major target species of fish here were biting fair to good this past week. The water temperature is ranging 82-84 degrees. The lake level is 7.56 feet below normal level. Boaters are reminded to trim your motors with the new ramps at this low level.
Black bass were good. Anglers say the largemouth bass bite continues to be best in the morning and then late in the evening. They are catching them on top as well as in 2-8 feet of water, with more biting at 12 feet depth. Use jighead worms, drop-shots, topwater lures and soft plastics. Spotted bass can be found mixed in with the largemouth, and others are being caught in 12-15 feet off rocky points. Use jigs or drop-shots.
White bass are still fair. There were reports of anglers trolling on the roadbed catching a few. Crankbaits seem to work best. Crappie are fair. Reports came in of crappie being found stacked on brush in 17-20 feet of water. Use jigs or minnows. Bream have been good again this week on brush. They should be anywhere from 6-12 feet; use crickets and redworms. The full moon is Monday, so this should be a good weekend to try for them.
Catfish are fair. Some anglers reported trying to catch some cats and snagging their lines. They were able to catch a few; try using live bream, worms or liver.
